DROID owners of the 2013 variety got an update across the Mini, MAXX and Ultra this past week or so. Wait, you weren’t actually expecting an update to Lollipop were you? Well, sadly, Verizon has only deemed these devices worth bug fixes, as the one line from the updates reads “Bug fixes and stability improvements”. Those with a DROID MAXX or ULTRA can find the update info here, and those with a DROID Mini here.

While Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 owners outside of the US have been enjoying Lollipop for quite some time now, those on T-Mobile have had to wait a little longer. Still, the update is finally here and brings with it a software version of 23.1.C.0.385 and comes in at over 600MB in size. This is a big update that brings a lot of Material Design with it, all be it with Sony’s own take on things. Having said that, this is one of the less corrupt versions of Lollipop available on devices these days.

That’s a whole .1 better than Android 5.0! All joking aside, this should bring yet more polish to your device as well as some performance updates as well. Moto E LTE users can find out more here, and Moto X owners here.

The ZenFone 2 and the ZenFone Selfie might be the new hotness for ASUS right now, but they haven’t totally forgotten about the first ZenFone line of products. Much like 2014 was the year of the KitKat Update, so too is 2015 the year of Lollipop. US Cellular is keeping things moving with a tablet update this week to the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. This Lollipop update shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to Samsung owners that have other devices, as there’s not much new here compared to the likes of the Galaxy S5 and so on. More info can be found from Samsung here.

The rabbit hole that is Nexus 6 updates goes deeper this week, as users on Sprint and T-Mobile see updates. Still, things aren’t too difficult to deal with, as the T-Mobile Nexus 6 crew gets updated to Android 5.1.1 build LYZ28E which brings with it everything from Android 5.1.1 as well as WiFi Calling on T-Mo’s network. Those on Sprint have recently seen Android 5.1.1 LYZ28E, and both are downloadable from Google’s master Factory Image list.

NVIDIA’s SHIELD Tablet Gets Android 5.1

Shield Tablet

The SHIELD Tablet is once again proving how good NVIDIA really can be when it comes to updates this week, as they bless it – and the LTE version – with Android 5.1 Lollipop. NVIDIA lists the usual Android 5.1 updates here, and considering the SHIELD basically runs stock Android there’s not much else besides those features, but there is a new firmware for the controller as well. Release notes can be found here from NVIDIA.
