Top 10 Android News Stories May 3rd Edition

Sometimes it’s hard to stay up on all the news during a busy work week, and just in case you missed anything we’re wrapping up the top 10 stories to recap everything that may have fallen by the wayside. It was a big week for LG, having officially announced their flagship for this year, the LG G4. While LG made a big to-do about their new flagship smartphone Samsung quietly launched a new mid-range tablet in U.S. retail stores with the Galaxy Tab A on May 1st, and Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners on T-Mobile started getting updates to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Samsung devices weren’t the only devices getting Lollipop this week, as Sony Canada began pushing out Lollipop to owners of four different Xperia devices, the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Tablet Z2. Lenovo announced a new Chromebox this week while Google announced some new voice actions for the OK Google command, and it was discovered that phablet use by consumers has tripled over the past 12 months, once again displaying that there is plenty of popularity surrounding large screen devices.
