Oppo Releases Another R7 Teaser; New Rumor Points To A 5-Inch Screen Size

Oppo R7 is a rather interesting device which has been talked about a lot in the last couple of weeks. This handset has been leaking all over the place and the company has recently confirmed that it will launch in May, which means it could theoretically launch any day now. Anyhow, this handset has also been certified in China quite recently, though we didn’t get much information regarding its specifications thus far. What we do know, however, is that the phone will be extremely slim, that it will sport premium metal build in combination with glass, sport 2.5D curved glass on the front and feature Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charge. This handset won’t exactly be bezel-less as everyone thought, it will have very thin bezels on the sides, but thanks to the curved glass and Oppo’s light reflection trick, it will seem completely bezel-less. Also, at least one variant of this device will feature a physical home button.

That being said, Oppo has once again teased their upcoming device via the company’s official Weibo (Chinese social network) account. This China-based smartphone OEM has sent out an image which you can check above this article, and it doesn’t reveal all that much, but according to some additional rumors from China, this display could be 5-inches big. Now, that might seem odd at first, but considering that the Oppo R7 Plus is also rumored, Oppo might want to provide more options for their consumers. So, if this display is truly 5-inches big, then the Oppo R7 Plus might sport a 5.5-inch display. Unfortunately, we’re only guessing and relying on rumors at this moment, but who knows. Perhaps Oppo wanted to tease a bigger display with this picture, either way, we’ll find out soon, it’s just a matter of time before legit specs leak out.

A bunch of previous rumors were claiming that this handset will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core SoC and sport a 20.7-megapixel camera (Sony’s sensor) on the back. We cannot confirm this, but it makes sense, this will be a mid-range handset after all, but a really powerful one it seems. Anyhow, the phone will launch this month and we’ll report back as soon as we get more info.
