OnePlus has been around for about a year and a half now, the company was founded back in December 2013. This China-based smartphone manufacturer has released only one device thus far, and that handset was one of the best smartphones in 2014 according to many people. The OnePlus One is a high-end device which ships with Cyanogen’s software on the inside, and was in high-demand for a long time. Unfortunately for a number of consumers who wanted to get it, OnePlus used an invite-only policy, you needed to have an invitation to purchase the device otherwise you were unable to. The invitation system is now gone and you can purchase the device if you wish, but that certainly hurt OnePlus One’s sales thus far. This handset has launched back in April 2014, and according to a number of reports, OnePlus will unveil its successor in Q3.

Considering the fact that the One’s successor is coming, OnePlus has decided to discount the OnePlus One in China. The company has lowered the price of the 16GB OnePlus variant to 1,499 Yuan ($242), in an attempt to sell what’s left of the OnePlus units and clear out stock before its successor arrives. As a side note, the handset was priced at 1,999 Yuan ($322) before, so this is a significant discount. OnePlus One is over a year old now, and its specifications are still more than solid. This handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of internal storage. OnePlus One is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz along with an Adreno 330 GPU. The 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this thing, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found on its front side.

OnePlus’ handset comes with a 3,100mAh non-removable battery on the inside, it measures 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9mm and weighs 162 grams. OnePlus actually released their very own Oxygen OS based on Android Lollipop quite recently, so you’ll be able to choose whether you’d like to use Cyanogen’s or OnePlus’ software. The 16GB variant of this device ships in Silk White color variant, and the 64GB model comes in Sandstone Black color.
