Meizu is one of the fast-growing China-based companies that we’ve talked a lot in the past couple of months. This company has announced a couple of smartphones last year, which have been in high demand for a long time now. The Meizu MX4 and MX4 Pro handset were the companies flagships, and Meizu M1 Note and M1 are the company’s mid-range offerings. All of these devices are very affordable considering what they have to offer, and it will be interesting to see what is Meizu planning to release this year.

This Chinese smartphone OEM has received a number of investments over the last couple of months and they certainly have the capital to push their business forward. We’ve seen quite a few leaks lately regarding the company’s upcoming device, specifically Meizu MX5, MX5 Pro and the M2 Note. Speaking of which, a new leak surfaced showing off the alleged Meizu MX5 handset. This time around, the Meizu MX5 actually sports a fingerprint scanner, unlike the last render that we’ve seen. Keep in mind that this could easily be the MX5 Pro, and not the MX5, but we can’t tell for sure. It is, of course, possible that Meizu intends to replace the circular capacitive button from the MX4 with a physical home button, as they did last year when they released the MX4 Pro. There are three images in a gallery down below which actually show us both sides of the handset. The dual LED, dual tone flash will make a comeback it seems, and this device does resemble both the MX4 and the MX4 Pro.
Both the MX5 and MX5 Pro, if Meizu releases both of them that is, will almost certainly be made out of metal, like their predecessors were. You can also expect MediaTek’s processor to power on both of these device consdering MediaTek actually insvested in Meizu quite recently, and the majority of Meizu’s devices were already powered by MediaTek’s chips. These two handsets will sport 3 or 4GB of RAM on the inside and will ship with Android Lollipop pre-installed with Meizu’s very own Flyme OS on top of it. According to some recent leaks, the MX5 might launch as soon as June 30, so stay tuned, we’ll report back soon.
