There are many options available now within the Bluetooth speaker market. However, they are all pretty much the same. They all come with Bluetooth, they all connect to your smartphone and they all tend to be box-like in appearance. In fact, the biggest variance on offer with Bluetooth speakers, seems to be the price. Well, if you are looking for something a little different to what is currently on offer, then you might want to check out the Olixar Light Beats Bluetooth Speaker Bulb.

As the name suggests, this is both a light bulb and a Bluetooth speaker all wrapped up within one product. Although, the combination of the two functions might seem a little strange at first, once used, the concept seems to perfectly provide a solution for space-saving options. Not to mention, this is one of the easiest Bluetooth speakers to connect to. There are no controls to mess with and once the light is on and active, you can pair to the bulb using your smartphone, tablet or Bluetooth device with ease. After the initial pairing and every other time the light is switched on, the bulb instantly and automatically connects to your smartphone. It really is an easy-to-connect device. The only issue noted in this respect is that the light does have to be on for the bulb to be used as a speaker. However, that aside, the two aspects seemed to work very well together.

As a lightbulb, the Olixar Speaker Bulb is a decent light offering. The bulb comes with a 3W LED bulb which is the equivalent to a 50W standard light bulb and comes fitted with a standard bulb fixing. Therefore, there were no major issues with the lighting function. The bulb works as any other bulb does and provides a more than sufficient area of illumination. As a speaker, again, there were no overwhelming issues noted. Again, this is a speaker and provided a good level of sound production. Now, in fairness, this is a light bulb and therefore, the size of a light bulb. As such, the quality of the sound output is not what you will get from a larger more speaker-oriented Bluetooth product. However, for background music, podcasts, audiobooks and so on, there were absolutely no issues at all with the Olixar Speaker Bulb. In fact, the sound will probably be far better than you will expect from a product like this. The Olixar Speaker Bulb comes with a built-in 3W speaker and amplifier, so as soon as your device is connected you are good to go.

Overall, this was a surprisingly good product when testing. There were no major issues noted with either the quality of the light or audio function of the device. If you are looking for a reasonably priced speaker option for the bathroom, kitchen or bedside table then this is a realistically good option and combines two necessary functions in one product. For those interested, the Olixar Speaker Bulb is available from Mobile Fun. In the UK, the Olixar Speaker Bulb will set you back £24.99 while in the U.S., customers can pick it up from the U.S. Mobile Fun site for $31.49.
