Almost every week there seems to be a new smartphone launching in China. Although, a lot of them are coming from the very big and more well-known manufacturers like Xiaomi and Huawei, most are coming from other up and coming manufacturers. A prime example of one of these manufacturers is Vivo. Although, unknown in other parts of the world, they are manufacturing a number of smartphones and seem to be always aiming for specific selling point. For instance, back in November they launched their Vivo X5 Max smartphone which (at the time) was designed to be the thinnest smartphone available, coming in at 4.75 mm in thickness.

Following on from the launch of the Vivo X5, the company launched another variant of the X5 in the form of the X5 Max L. Although, not as thin as the X5 Max, this was another device which touted an extremely thin body, coming in at 5.1 mm. Well, now, it seems the company is gearing up to release their next device in the X5 range. However, compared to the last two, this one is looking to offer more of a premium selling point than a thin one, and as such comes in the form of the Vivo X5 Pro.

In terms of what is on offer, nothing has actually been confirmed for definite as of yet. Although, the rumored specs are said to include 3GB RAM and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. Although camera specs are not offered, they are believed to be of a high-end nature. In terms of the display, the device is rumored to come with a 6-inch screen, placing the device firmly in the phablet range. Not to mention the display is touted to come with 2.5D curved glass. The only other rumored specs is that X5 Pro will come running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with the company’s Funtime OS 2.0 over the top. While, all will be powered by a large 3,500mAh battery. In particular, this will be one of the defining features compared to the previous thinner (and therefore, less battery capable) devices from the X5 range. Well, it looks the company has ousted a promo image of the device today that also shows the device coming with some nice curved corners. In spite of the lack of firm details, the rumors do seem to be suggesting that this to be quite a high-end device. Either way, with a rumored launch date of May, it should not be too long before more details start to emerge.
