OnePlus One No Invite Sale Tomorrow In India Is An Amazon App Only Sale

April 13, 2015 - Written By John Anon

Owners of the OnePlus One (and those who have tried to buy one) will know that getting hold of the device is not the easiest of tasks. In spite of how loved the device is among those who already own one, the process of getting one, is a tedious one. You cannot simply go down to your local phone or carrier store and grab the One. Similarly, you cannot just log onto the website and get the One. In fact, up until very recently, the only way to get hold of a One, was to receive an invite. This typically meant either being given an invite from someone who had already bought the device (in turn receiving their invite from someone else) or by winning one of their random competitions and contents,

That did change awhile back when OnePlus made an announcement that for certain countries, OnePlus One wannabe owners could buy the device without an invite. However, the catch was that you could only buy the One on a Tuesday. This is actually the sales method which still persists today. So, for instance, if you are looking to pick up a One and don’t want (or can’t get an invite), then tomorrow you will be able to pick it up. One of  the countries who joined the no-invite system late was India. Although, different to the other OnePlus availability countries, the Indian no invite sales have not been as consistent and seem far more random in when they are available. Not to mention, the no invite sales all have to go through their exclusive partnership with Amazon India. Therefore, unlike the rest of the countries, instead of using your invites on the OnePlus website, you simply use your invite on Amazon.

Well, like the rest of the countries, residents in India will be able to buy the One tomorrow without the need for an invite. However, it seems tomorrow, those in India will not be able to buy the One through Amazon. At least not through a web browser. OnePlus sent out a strange announcement today (source link below) that those looking to take part in tomorrow’s Indian open sale, will have to purchase the One through the Amazon India app. Those interested can pick up either the 16GB Silk White version or the 64GB Sandstone Black version at a price of Rs 18,999 and Rs 21,999 respectively. The sale begins at 10am local time and if your are planning to take part then make sure you have the app downloaded and ready to go.
