Not too long ago, Huawei finally announced the P8, their new flagship smartphone for both China as well as Europe and Latin America. It’s a great smartphone, and so are the P8 Max and P8 Lite that they announced along with it. The P8 is a super-thin smartphone with a luxurious look and feel that costs a lot more than previous versions of the Ascend P line, but the rumored P8 Lite might be the company’s answer to these complaints. We had heard a lot about this rumored smartphone long before the P8, P8 Lite and P8 Max were announced earlier this month and now a listing online in Germany has been spotted with a price of €249, making it a lot cheaper than the P8 and only a little smaller.

The listing is for a device in silver and gold with a 5.0-inch 720p display and an Octa-Core CPU clocked at 1.2 Ghz with 2GB of RAM backing it up. In fact, the store listing at Saturn, a German retailer, seems pretty thorough and points to 16GB of expandable storage, a 13-megapixel camera and LTE Cat 4 support up to 150mbps. The P8 Lite is listed with measurements of 70.6 mm x 143.0 mm with a weight of 131 g which does make this a little smaller than the original, but its price tag of just €249 is what makes this the “Lite” version of the device.

The P8 line signals a new direction for Huawei, as they try their best to become something of a luxury brand, rather than a company known for cheaper handsets. With the Huawei Watch and a new line of smartphones that focuses on the overall experience rather than a few key specifications, it seems like the Chinese brand is on their way to becoming a premium brand. Whether or not this listing for the Huawei P8 Lite is a slip up on Saturn’s part or not remains to be seen, but with Huawei where there’s smoke there’s usually fire. While the P8 Lite was announced earlier this month, there was little concrete information on a release. Those interested can take a look at the store listing at the source link below, and German readers can even pre-order it right now!
