Samsung has announced their new Galaxy Tab A tablets in Russia yesterday. The company has announced an 8-inch and a 9.7-inch tablets which share the same screen resolution and the majority of internals, more on this later on. Both of these tablets are mid-rangers and will cost around €300 when Samsung makes them available for purchase. That being said, SamMobile managed to get ahold of official wallpapers from these Galaxy Tab A tablets and share them with all of us. If you’d like to check out / download these wallpapers, visit the gallery down below and let us know if you like them.
Both of these tablets offer the same screen resolution (1024 x 768), and are also powered by the same processor, Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core chip clocked at 1.3GHz. 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internals storage can also be found inside of these units, and the internal storage is expandable via microSD card. 5-megapixel camera is located on the back of Samsung’s newest tablets, and a 2-megapixel snapper can be found up front. The 8-inch tablet features a 4,200mAh battery, and according to Samsung, the battery will last roughly about 8 hours of usage (screen-on time). The 9.7-inch variant has a slightly bigger battery, but you’ll get more or less the same performance out of it. Both of these devices are 7.5mm thick and will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Google’s OS. The listing also said that the 9.7-inch model has two speakers, but it seems we’re not looking at stereo speakers here, unfortunately.
Both of these tablets offer 4:3 aspect ratios, just like the company’s high-end Galaxy Tab S tablets. So I guess we can say that the Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A line is like a budget Tab S line or something to that effect. Either way, both of these tablets will be available in Blue, White or Gray color options, and will go on sale soon. Samsung did not reveal when will they release these two devices in other markets though, but we expect them to do so soon, stay tuned for that.
