Lenovo Announces the VIBE Shot at MWC 2015

March 1, 2015 - Written By Alexander Maxham

In Barcelona, Lenovo announced the VIBE Shot. Which is basically their take on a great camera, that also does phone calls. Kinda like Panasonic’s Lumix CM1, and event the Galaxy S4 Zoom from a couple years ago. It’s sporting a 16MP camera on the back with a six-piece modular lens. The camera features a full-frame 16:9 low-light sensor for shooting in the dark. With the camera’s triclor flash, photo luminosity adjusts automatically based on the ambient light conditions. There’s also Optical Image Stabilization or OIS included here. Lenovo has included both “Smart Settings” and pro settings for those that know what they’re doing when it comes to cameras.

Onto the specs, Lenovo has packed in a 5-inch FHD display (that’d be a 1920 x 1080 resolution display). It’s also running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor so it is 64-bit. Additionally it’s sporting 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage along with a microSD card slot that can fit a 128GB card. It does also support LTE, and even has Dual SIM card slots. Lenovo has added a 8MP Selfie camera on the front as well.

Lenovo is expecting to have the VIBE Shot available in June for about $349. And it will be available in White, Red and Gray. Much like with the Lenovo A7000, we’ll be getting hands on with the VIBE Shot in the next day or two, so make sure you keep your browser locked to Android Headlines. Since this is part of the VIBE brand, we likely won’t see this make it’s way to the US, which is a shame, but since they did buy Motorola and that purchase is now complete perhaps we will see more Lenovo products make the cross into the US. It’d definitely be nice to see over here.
