Google Nexus 6 to FINALLY be available on Verizon Tomorrow, March 12th

March 11, 2015 - Written By Alexander Maxham

Anyone remember when the Google Nexus 6 was launched? It was back in November right? Verizon has today, announced that they will be launching the Google Nexus 6 tomorrow, March 12th. We’ve seen numerous leaks and rumors about when it’ll be launched, but today we finally have confirmation straight from the horses mouth, so to speak. You can read Verizon’s blog post from the source links down below.

Google announced the Nexus 6 back in October and made it available in November. At the time of announcing it, Google had stated that the Nexus 6 would be available on all four major carriers here in the US, that’s Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile all launched the Nexus 6 pretty quickly once November hit, but one carrier didn’t say a word, and that was Verizon. Typically, Verizon is late in getting new devices out to their customers, so this wasn’t a surprise, but this one is probably the latest. At least it’s here though.

The Google Nexus 6 features a 6-inch 2560×1440 resolution AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor inside, 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, a 3200mAh battery and a 13MP camera around back along with that Motorola flash ring that is also on the DROID Turbo and Moto X. Verizon appears to only be offering the 32GB version, and will be selling it for $249.99 on contract or for $0 down and $27.08 per month on Verizon Edge. Which falls right in line with pricing from the other carriers on the Nexus 6. It’ll be available online tomorrow, and in stores on March 19th. So if you want to walk into a Verizon store and pick one up, you’ve got a bit longer to wait.

What’s interesting here is that it’s shipping with Android 5.1 Lollipop. So perhaps Verizon was waiting on Google to ship out Android 5.1 before they announced availability of the Nexus 6 and made it available. We heard a similar story with the LTE version of the Nexus 7 (2013), so it wouldn’t surprise me too much. Either way, Verizon customers can finally get their hands on the Nexus 6 beginning tomorrow! How many of you are excited to get your hands on one?
