Most of you have probably already heard of Gionee. This Chinese company is best-known for their Elife S5.1 handset which was announced back in September 2014. This handset was the thinnest smartphone in the world for a short time, until Oppo launched their R5 handset that is. The Elife S5.1 is a MediaTek-powered mid-ranger which is only 5.2mm thick. Anyhow, this company has released a new device during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this month, the Elife S7. The company will release this handset in India soon. They’ll hold an event in that Asian country in the first week of April, and the company has already sent out invitations. The invitation didn’t reveal the exact time of the event just yet, but we do know it will be held in Hyderabad and that the event will take place between 3rd and 5th of April. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more information regarding the event itself, the company will quite probably release the exact time of the event really soon. This device will cost â‚¬399 in Europe, and its price in India is still unknown, we’ll have to wait for the announcement in order to find that out. Gionee Elife S7 is essentially a rather solid mid-ranger, let’s check out its specs, shall we.
The Elife S7 features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, a display technology which is a rarity outside of Samsung’s lineup. This handset also sports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of non-expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz is powering on this device along with Mali-T760MP2 GPU. 13-megapixel shooter is located on the back of this handset and is flanked by an LED flash. 8-megapixel camera can be found up front. Gionee Elife S7 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with Gionee’s skin on top of Google’s operating system. 2,750mAh non-removable battery is also a part of the package here, and this handset comes with 4G LTE connectivity. The Elife S7 measures 139.8 x 67.4 x 5.5mm, weighs 126.5 grams and comes with two SIM card slots, in case you need the dual SIM functionality.
