FreedomPop Latest Deal Offers Monthly Allowance Of Free 4G Internet

There are deals and then there are, deals. On the face of it, the latest offering from FreedomPop seems to be exactly that. A deal. And one not to be taken lightly or overlooked on first glancing. For those who are new to FreedomPop, then this is one of those MVNO type carriers (with this one operating on the Sprint network). FreedomPop have recently attracted headlines as they seem to be really trying hard to secure customers based on the promise of almost free services or at least as low as possible. For instance, when their app launched back in October of last year, the company offered users a limited number of free calls and messages. No separate card needed. You simply download the app, set up an account and you are generated a phone number through the app. From which you can make calls and receive texts. This was shortly followed by the company offering users free international calls for a $5 per month add-on charge.

Well, the latest deal being touted by the company is free 4G internet. And to all purposes, this is exactly what they are offering. Here is how the deal works. To take advantage of the free internet on the go, you have to purchase one of their small MiFi hotspot units. Although the idea of carrying something around with you sounds less appealing, it should be noted that the unit is supposed to be a credit card sized type device so is not too intrusive. Once the unit is purchased and included in the $29.99 one-off purchase price is 2GB 4G/3G data for one month. This is like a trial period in which you can test how the service works and so on. If you wish to continue with that particle data plan then you can. However, if you do not want to and prefer the sound of free internet then as part of the current deal, FreedomPop will give you 500MB of free data per month, every month from now on. Obviously if you want more, you can pay more. However, if 500MB is enough to keep you going when you are away from WiFi then this just might be the solution.

To sweeten the deal even more, FreedomPop does offer (for $3.99 a month) the ability to rollover any unused data you accumulate. So if you are not even using the 500 MB’s on any given month, you can let it roll over and effectively stockpile the data for when you more need it. So, all in all, not a bad little freebie. It is probably lastly worth also pointing out that the MiFi hotspot is a standard WiFI hotspot type device and as such you can connect pretty much any WiFi enabled device to it.
