Yu Yureka Available Today For Those For Those Who Registered Earlier But Were Unable To Purchase The Device

The Cyanogen-powered Yu Yureka handset was announced back in December and it’s been available through flash sales a couple of times thus far. This device came out as a product of Micromax and Cyanogen partnership, Yu is a Micromax-owned company. This device is trying to appeal to consumers with its rather solid specifications and a really affordable price. The handset is available only in India at this time, and it is still unknown if Micromax (or perhaps Cyanogen) intends to offer this device for sale in other countries.

Anyhow, Amazon India has announced something Yureka-related today. This handset will be available for select customers today, those “who have shown a high level of interest to buy the smartphone, but were unable to get it”, you’ll find out what that means in a second . The sale will take place today, February 18, 2015 from 2PM to 5PM (local time). The device will be available only to customers who registered earlier for a flash sale and were unable to get their hands on the device. Those customers will receive an e-mail from Amazon.in informing them that they’re available to purchase this device.  Yu’s Yureka handset already got its first update a couple of weeks back, and will be updated every month, at least that’s what the company said recently. The next flash sale for this device will take place on February 19 at 2PM (local time) on Amazon India, though we still don’t know how many units will be offered as part of that sale.

This device features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor is powering on this handset along with the Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The device ships with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera (Sony’s Exmor R sensor, f/2.2 aperture). On the front of this device, you’ll find a 5-megapixel shooter (OmniVision 5648 sensor, 71-degree wide viewing angle). This is a dual-SIM device which comes with 4G LTE connectivity. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS are also here, of course. 2500mAh battery ships with this device and the handset measures 154.8 x 78 x 8.8mm.
