Stainless Steel SmartWatch 3 and Strap Adapter to be Available Worldwide Soon; With Free Todoist Premium

Sony’s SmartWatch 3 was launched last year and well, it’s safe to say that the sport-focused look and feel of the colorful, silicon bands weren’t to everyone’s taste. Choice is a powerful thing though, and for those users looking for something more active, the SmartWatch 3 was easily the best choice out there. Now, for those looking for something a little more casual, perhaps something to wear to the office, Sony is to rollout availability of the stainless steel SmartWatch 3 as well as a kit with a sort of strap adapter that makes the face usable with any 24mm watch band, much like the SmartWatch 2.

In a blog post earlier today, Sony has said that both of these new versions of the SmartWatch 3 will be available throughout the globe starting “this week”. That’s not exactly concrete or anything, but it is nice to know that they’re working on making the SmartWatch 3 more appealing to users. The Stainless Steel version is really quite attractive, and while it does have something of a retro feel to it, it’ll definitely appeal to those looking for something more stylish. Meanwhile, the “holder” as Sony is calling it basically puts a plastic casing around the watch face and then allows you to attach any 24mm band you like to it. This is another nice option, but it’s nowhere near as attractive as say an original G Watch is with a nice strap. This is a matter of opinion of course, and I for one am glad to see the Stainless Steel model hit the market, as this could be the replacement for my G Watch I’ve had since it launched.

There’s a little something extra from Sony with either of these two new models here as well. Anybody who purchases either a Stainless Steel or holder version of the SmartWatch 3 will get access to six months of Todosist premium, which was recently updated with some nifty Android Wear integration. Those who have been eyeing up the sporty silicon versions can get premium versions of iFit or Golfshot with a purchase of the original SmartWatch 3. Neither of the two models have appeared on Amazon just yet, but we’ll keep an eye out.
