We all know by now that Samsung’s profits have been declining for quite some time now. The company is changing things around in order to get back on track, and as part of that they decided to change the design of their smartphones to some extent. Well, not design per se, but materials they used to design those smartphones. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Alpha smartphone in 2014, which combines plastic and metal in order to provide a more premium feel. The Galaxy A3 and A5 smartphones are built based off of the Galaxy Alpha and have been available for purchase for quite some time now. That’s not all though, the company has decided to cut back on the amount of sub-brands they push out and be smarter about offering their low-mid rangers in emerging markets.
The Galaxy E3 and E7 were announced in India on January 6th and went on sale on January 20th in that Asian country. Not even a month later, Samsung has decided to discount both of those handsets in India for some reason, perhaps their sales aren’t going as well as planned? Either way, these price cuts are effective starting today, and if you live in India you’ll be able to get the Galaxy E5 and E7 for Rs. 17,900 ($288) and Rs. 20,900 ($336) respectively. As a reminder, these two handset were priced at Rs. 19,300 ($310) and Rs. 23,000 ($370) at launch.
You can get both of these handset discounted from Amazon India (E5, E7), other resellers are expected to discount them soon, most of them still haven’t done that. These two handsets are somewhat different in terms of specs and size, their design is more or less the same though. The Galaxy E5 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display along with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. 8 and 5-megapixel cameras are also a part of this package, and the device comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed. The Galaxy E7, on the other hand, sports a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable in-built storage. 13 and 5-megapixel snappers are a part of this package, and this handset also ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed.
Let us know if you already purchased the Galaxy E5 or E7, or if you intend to purchase them in the future now that Samsung has decided to discount both of those handsets.
