ZTE Discounts Nubia Z5 Mini From 1499 to 610 Yuan ($99) In China, Will Be Available On December 5th

ZTE has just announced something really interested, their Nubia Z5 Mini (or Z5S) handset will be on sale via TMall starting December 5th. This handset will be sold for as low as 610 Yuan ($99), which is its lowest price to date. ZTE decided to discount the device for 899 Yuan ($146), from its original 1499 Yuan ($244) price, which is just insane, that’s over 50% discount for this handset. I’m rather certain ZTE will sell this handsets like crazy on December 5th and will soon be left without any stock of the device, so, if you live in China and are looking for a solid well-specced device, well, get ready. 610 Yuan for a device like this is really not much, quite the contrary. Talking about the device, let’s check out its specifications.

Nubia Z5 Mini features a 4.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IGZO display along with 2GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 32GB). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz which comes with an Adreno 320 GPU for graphics processing. 13-megapixel camera is this handset’s main camera and it is located on the back of the handset itself, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper on the front side of the device for your selfies and what not. This handset sports a 2000mAh battery and comes with Android 4.2.2 JellyBean pre-installed with ZTE’s UI on top of it.

As you can see, this device is extremely well equipped for a 610 Yuan phone and I don’t believe you’ll find anything higher-specced than this in that price range. For those of you who are looking for a backup device or something similar, this might be the thing for you, a rather well-equipped backup handset. The device itself doesn’t exactly scream “design”, by any stretch of the imagination, its design is rather, well, regular. It’s a slab of plastic covered with glass on the front and it actually has some significant bezels on top and bottom, but considering the price you really can’t complain, now can you?

As a side note, ZTE is rumored to release a Nubia Z9 handset in the coming months, the phone with basically no bezel on the sides, expect the trim that goes around the device of course. Perhaps this discount has something to do with it, who knows.
