Xiaomi’s Alleged Laptop Gets Listed For Pre-Order In China

Xiaomi is the fastest growing smartphone manufacturer in the world, but that company works on many other tech devices other than smartphones. The manufacture tablets, smart TVs… heck, even air purifiers. Earlier today a rather interesting leak came our way, saying that Xiaomi is working on an extremely powerful Laptop which will be incredibly affordable. Quite frankly, all that seemed a bit too far-fetched in my humble opinion, especially the price, but now we managed to get our hands on some additional info regarding this product which makes its existence slightly more probable.

This laptop is currently listed on banggood.com retailer website and is priced at $710, which is a far more believable price for such a powerful machine, as far as specs go at the very least. If you take a look at the listing, you’ll notice that this is an 8GB version of this laptop, not the 16GB version that was leaked earlier today, and the laptop is currently available for pre-order, though the listing doesn’t reveal when will it become available for purchase or ship if you pre-order it. Other than that, specs are basically the same ones we’ve seen earlier, though this listing reveals some more details regarding its specifications. This laptop features a 15.6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 8GB of DDR3 RAM and Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 760M graphics card (2GB DDR5). This machine is powered by Intel’s Core i7 processor and will ship with Linux OS. Interesting enough, earlier leak suggested that Xiaomi developed some sort of OS to place on top of Linux and this listing doesn’t mention anything like that, it only lists Linux as the OS of choice. HDMI, headphone jack, USB 2.0 and 3.o ports, card reader… are all listed on the website.

I was really surprised to see this thing leak earlier today and am just as surprising right now, I didn’t expect to see this laptop listed anywhere, at least for a while. This is a far more realistic price for this device though I’m still very skeptical regarding all this and I’m still not convinced this is the real deal. What do you think, will Xiaomi launch this tablet in the near future? Would you be interested in buying one?

Thanks for the tip Gilton.
