December 9, 2014 - Written By Tom Dawson

Description: SofaScore Livescore is an Android app that aims to be the most complete solution to getting sports scores live, no matter where you are or which device you’re using. Unlike similar apps, SofaScore is not only great on smartphones and tablets, but also Android Wear devices, like the Moto 360. With more than just Soccer listed, SofaScore can help you get the latest up-to-date scores on Basketball, Amateur Football, Tennis and more – from all over the world. With coverage for upcoming games as well as league standings for leagues all over the world, there’s a lot on offer from SofaScore. Is it the solution that you’ve been looking for? Read on to see what we thought of it.

How it Works: As with other Android apps, all you need to do is download SofaScore from the Play Store and you’ll be greeted with league standings where you are.

These are your pinned leagues, you can unpin these leagues just by tapping the pin. Keeping them pinned will help you get the information on the latest scores quicker than otherwise. To take a look at leagues from a certain country, you can just expand them, like this:

A nice feature in SofaScore is the ability to take a look at a league’s table to see who’s doing well and who isn’t.

Let’s not forget that SofaScore isn’t just for Soccer, as it supports other sports like the following:

So, with SofaScore, big NBA fans can check up on recent games – as well as those happening right now as well.

There’s so much on offer with SofaScore that it’s hard to keep it up with, but the Android Wear app is of course a big deal.

There’s also a great selection of widgets, and the app runs great on Android tablets, too.

Opinion: While I might not be a big sports fan, I know more than my fair share, and I’m constantly being asked to look up scores for either matches that have just ended or ongoing matches. SofaScore, for me is a godsend as it works on everything I own, really quite well. It works on my smartphone, my Nexus 9 really well and it even features livescores direct to my G Watch, nothing else out there offers me all that in one app. What impresses me about SofaScore is not only the wide array of sports and information on offer, but the high level of polish. This is definitely a professionally made app, and the one app I can get my Dad to use on his smartphone – and his smartwatch – to stop asking me what the scores are. It’s easy to use, it’s already adopted Material Design and it has pretty much everything you’d want all under one roof.

Ratings

  • Speed (4/5) – This is a quick app, and I didn’t find myself waiting around for scores or tables to load.
  • Features (5/5) – With leagues from all over the world represented, a good tablet app and even an Android Wear component, it’d be hard to find something missing with SofaScore.
  • Theme (4/5) – The use of Material Design is good here and everything is neatly laid out and it’s fairly simple to use as well.
  • Overall (4.5/5) – A solid, reliable and complete solution for getting scores and standings for a number of different sports and leagues all over the world, SofaScore is the app to stay up-to-date.

Pros

  • Works great on smartphones, tablets and the Android Wear component is really great, too.
  • Not just for UK soccer, but focuses on a number of different sports all over the world.
  • Android Wear app can give you live scores when you’re out with family and friends or when your other half is watching TV.
  • Completely free to use, with ads worked in tastfully.

Cons

  • Android Wear app is great, but isn’t much use unless there’s a game on at this moment.
  • There are a lot of spots and leagues featured here, but there’s always room for more.

Conclusion: With everything that SofaScore has on offer, it’s pretty difficult to recommend anything else other than SofaScore, especially to those that are looking for a solution that looks great on no matter which device they’re using. The Android Wear part of the app is really good, and can offer quick reference to what’s going on when you can’t get to your phone or you’re enjoying another game. With integration with Bet365 and comprehensive league standings, SofaScore ticks every box going and it looks great doing it. A complete solution to finding out how your teams are doing, SofaScore is well worth taking a look at, especially if you need another nifty smartwatch app.
