Samsung Galaxy S4 $215 Cricket Wireless Sale Extended For Today Online

December 2, 2014 - Written By David Steele

As part of the Cyber Monday deals, yesterday Cricket Wireless offered a chunky discount on both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S4 was offered at an online price of just $214.99, compared with the normal price of $429.99 so that’s a saving of $215. The Galaxy S5 is a more expensive device to start off with but it too had the price halved, down from $589.99 to $294.99 – but unfortunately the S5 is showing as out of stock on Cricket’s website. However, under $215 is not a lot of cash to stump up for what is still a great device, especially now that we know it’s going to get Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Galaxy S4 is based around a 1080p, 5.0-inch Samsung AMOLED screen backed up by a 1.9 GHz, quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor equipped with 2 GB of RAM. There’s 16 GB of internal storage plus a MicroSD card slot, which is rated for up to 64 GB of expansion memory. Samsung have given the S4 a 13 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera, plus a replaceable 2,600 mAh battery. Cricket have the black model for sale on the website so you’re out of luck if you were hoping for another color.

Cricket Wireless is a subsidy of AT&T and offers nationwide coverage with plans start at $25 a month if all you want to do is call and text but if you want data, and are prepared to automatically top up, you can pay $35 for 1 GB of high speed data rising to $55 for the 10 GB plan. These plans provide an allowance of high speed data and after using this, your connection speed is throttled to 128 kbps. One point about Cricket’s high speed data transfer rate is that LTE is throttled to 8 mbps and HSPA data transfer speeds are limited to 4 mbps. For many users, these speeds will be fast enough and a high end smartphone such as the Galaxy S4 can handle this without breaking into a sweat!

If you’re interested in this deal, you have until 2359 hours tonight to take advantage of it: hit up the source showing below and follow the link for the S4. And whilst at the moment the Galaxy S5 is showing as out of stock, it may reappear at some point in the next few hours, although I’d consider this unlikely. If you have already decided to go for either the S4 or the S5 deal, hit us up below and let us know.

UPDATE: Well that was quick. It looks like the S4 has already sold out.
