Nintendo Files Patent For Running Old Games On MobileGame Boy

While we still patiently wait for Nintendo to grace the world of mobile devices with their awesome games, a silver lining(perhaps?)has appeared on the horizon that could spark hope for anyone who is wishing the video game company would bring classic titles(or any titles for that matter)to Android devices and the like. Nintendo has clearly stated numerous times that they have no intention of bringing their games over to smartphones, but they have recently filed a patent that would allow them to do just that with old classic Game Boy games and other old titles. More than likely this is just a move on Nintendo’s part to secure the patent, but it could mean that they are considering the idea of launching some older games on mobile platforms. This would certainly help to boost their revenues as plenty of people would surely buy official Nintendo games instead of playing ROMs through emulators. Come on Nintendo, we want an official Android launch of Earthbound!

Peggle Blast Hits The play StorePeggle Blast

Just in case you missed our coverage of this game earlier in the week, Peggle Blast has made its way over to Android for massive peg bursting action. There are all kinds of awesome new features like special boosts from the Peggle Masters for point busting insanity, and of course some mildly annoying music after you pass every level. It kind of grows on you after a little bit but then immediately becomes annoying again. All the same, Peggle Blast is pretty fun and everyone should at least give it a try. You can check it out at the download link in the Play Store.
