Samsung Gear S Experience App Released in the Play Store

Samsung’s Gear S is the latest wearable in the company’s long line of wearable technology, and Samsung wants you to try it out.  While we’ve been able to give it a shot and even review it, sometimes it’s not quite as easy as just running to the store and picking up a $400 watch just to try it out.  That’s why Samsung likes to release what it calls “Experience Apps,” apps in which Samsung goes over all the features of a given device and lets you virtually try it out before you buy it.  Today Samsung has released the experience app for the Gear S and it’s a pretty fantastic one, taking you through all the features of the watch-turned-phone and even gives you a 360-degree view of the device to check out.

Upon opening the app you’ll be presented with a splash screen that has 4 different quadrants full of information: Design, Communication, Features and Fitness.  Each category has 3 sub categories that go into detail about a specific feature of the smartwatch and show you exactly how you can use and get the most out of the Gear S if you decide you want to jump in for one.  Remember the Gear S is a standalone smartwatch that doesn’t need a smartphone to work some of its features, but if you want to use all the features of the smartwatch you’ll need a Samsung phone running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher.  Samsung’s Gear S is powered by Samsung’s own Tizen operating system so having Samsung software on your phone is a requirement for any kind of communication to take place.  While you can still do all the fitness stuff, make phone calls and text without the phone, there’s plenty of things you won’t be able to do too.  Check out the app for all the info by clicking the Google Play Store link below!
