By now (and especially if you live in India) you should have heard about the Xiaomi Redmi 1S or more specifically the company’s recurring flash sales. If you haven’t then just to bring you up to speed Xiaomi launch sporadic and recurring flash sales for their new budget priced mid-range device, the Redmi 1S. Since Xiaomi started the flash sales the actual sales have become almost as well-known as the device itself. The flash sales have seemed to be a big hit for Xiaomi and consistently sell out in literally seconds earning the true meaning of a ‘flash’ sale. In the initial sales Xiaomi were managing to shift typically 60,000 units in under 5 seconds. However as the sales have continued their speed of sell-outs has starting to somewhat reduce. Their most recent sale (last week) upped the number of available units to 150,000 and seemed to remain in stock for a few hours after becoming available.

It now seems the latest Redmi 1S flash sale has been announced and set for Tuesday October 14th. Unlike the previous flash sale Xiaomi have dropped the number of unit’s available back down to 100,000. All other details of the latest sale remain the same as all previous sales. Just to remind you the device is only available via Flipkart and you need to be registered (before the sale starts) to be able to take part in the sale. To register head over to Flipkart by clicking here. Again consistent with previous sales it is worth remembering that if you did register previously you do need to register again for this sale. Registrations do not seem to carry over from sale-to-sale. The price remains the same with the device selling at Rs 5,999 which is roughly $100.

If you need to know details about the device – the Redmi 1S offers a 4.7″ screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Inside you get 1GB RAM while the device is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor (clocks at 1.6GHz). Internal memory is a modest 8GB, but you do also get the external microSD card slot although this is also rather modest by comparison (up to 32GB). For the photographers out there, the Redmi 1S offers an 8MP rear camera and a 1.6MP front shooter. Lastly, the Redmi 1S offers a 2,000mAh battery, is dual-SIM and comes loaded with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) although layered with Xiaomi’s MIUI 5 OS on top.
