Smartwatches are definitely becoming a thing and a still new Android Wear platform is becoming a huge part of the market. Initially, we had only 2 Android Wear-powered smartwatches to choose from, Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch, that number is slowly growing though. We’ve seen a couple of Android Wear-based devices showcased at this year’s IFA in Berlin at the beginning of last month. LG G Watch R, Sony Smartwatch 3 and Asus ZenWatch definitely grabbed our attention.
All three of these smartwatches are now listed for pre-order at Expansys in UK. Expansys is an online retailer and you can get your own Asus ZenWatch for £159.99, Sony’s Smartwatch 3 will cost you £189.99 while the most expensive out of these three smartwatches, LG G Watch R, will set you back £219.99. Proprietary bands for Sony Smartwatch 3 are coming in at £19.99. Expansys doesn’t say when will they ship you the device though, we’re still waiting for that information. These prices aren’t exactly low and are a bit higher than what I expected to see from this retailer, but that’s just me, besides it was to be expected I guess. I was especially surprised to see the LG G Watch R priced at a whopping £219.99. If you’re interested in either of these devices click on one of the links above. Let us know if you decided to pre-order either of these smartwatches.
All three of these devices are Android Wear smartwatches as previously stated though they differ in other ways, build materials, design, shape… LG G Watch R is the only watch sporting the circular display out of these three, though it differs from Moto G considering it features a more sporty look. Zenwatch is beautiful in its own way and really well build, while the Sony Smartwatch offers more of an industrial look, which some people will certainly appreciate. Asus Zenwatch and LG G Watch R are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz while Smartwatch 3’s specifications only list a 1.2GHz quad-core chip, it is quite possible we’re talking about a Snapdragon 400 here as well. All three of these devices come with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of in-built storage. Asus ZenWatch features a 1.63-inch 320×320 AMOLED display, LG G Watch R comes with a 1.3-inch P-OLED display and Sony Smartwatch 3 packs a 1.6-inch 320 x 320 Transflective Display.
