Nexus 9 Keyboard Case passes through the NCC

September 15, 2014 - Written By Alexander Maxham

While we are waiting on the Nexus 9, it’s keyboard case just passed through the NCC. Which many of you may or may not know, it’s basically the Chinese FCC. This is the keyboard case that Google is readying for the HTC Nexus 9 (aka the Volantis). The model number is indeed the same as the one that was leaked out a few weeks ago. So this may not be the final product, but it is the same one as was in the leak from a few weeks ago, that came from Android Police.

Looking at the keyboard, you’ve got all your usual keys there. But surprisingly, you do not have the back, home and recents keys, which you typically see on keyboards that are made specifically for Android tablets. And also on the HP Slatebook 14. It appears that there is a flip cover that goes over the front as well, which probably works as a stand to hold up the Nexus 9. So from what we can tell, this looks like a pretty cool accessory that Google may launch alongside the Nexus 9. Which would be pretty interesting actually.

Lately, Google has been getting into the accessory game with their Nexus devices. We’ve seen them launch all kinds of cases, flip covers and even wireless chargers on the Google Play Store. So it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see this land on the Google Play Store next month alongside the Nexus 9 tablet. The Nexus 9 is supposedly a 8.9-inch tablet from HTC with a 4:3 aspect ratio. There’s not much known about it at this time, but we should be learning more in the coming weeks as we get closer to Android L and the Nexus launch which we expect to happen next month. How many of you are interested in the Nexus 9 and this keyboard case?
