APK Download: YouTube updated to version 5.9

It’s Update Wednesday, or it appears to be. As Google has just pushed out an update to YouTube, to bring it to version 5.9. Now on the surface, you won’t notice much difference with the new version. Although on the “Liked Videos” page you’ll see a bit of a difference. There is now an Add button, instead of a like button, this is also in the Playlist page of the app. Otherwise the new version looks identical to the previous version. What’s interesting about the update is the fact that it’s been upped 2mb in size from the last update.

Additionally, there’s a “View All” button under the playlists in the slideout menu on the app. Obviously this allows you to go ahead and see all the playlists you have. So not a huge update, but it’ll be interesting to see what kind of an update we get with v6.0. Maybe we’ll see some material design with version 6.0? Hopefully it comes out pretty soon. So far we haven’t heard anything about material design for YouTube.

For those wondering, yes we have the APK and it’s available down below for those that want to sideload it. To sideload it, you’ll just need to download the APK on your device, then open it, and follow the prompts to  install the app. You’ll need to have “Unknown Sources” checked, obviously to install the APK. Additionally, you’ll also be upgrading the version of YouTube on your device, so if you don’t like the update, you can always roll back – or just do a backup ahead of time. You can download it from the link below.

How many of you are already getting this new update from the Google Play Store? Let us know in the comments below.
