Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet

Verizon Announces the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, Pre-Orders Start July 10th

We’ve been seeing leaks of the Xperia Z2 on Verizon for a few months now. But it looks like Verizon was working on certifying the Xperia Z2 tablet instead as they just announced that this morning. The Xperia Z2 Tablet is going to be exclusive to Verizon – although you can still pick up the WiFi version if you’re really interested – and pre-orders are starting tomorrow. Verizon is selling the Xperia Z2 tablet for just $599 outright, or if you want to sign a two-year contract, it can be yours for just $499. Although we’d urge you to just buy it outright as it is only $100 more. Pre-orders start tomorrow, the Xperia Z2 Tablet will be in store on July 17th.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet features a 10.1-inch 1920×1080 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB of storage. There’s also a 8.1MP camera on the back and a 2.2MP front-facing camera. We’re also looking at a 6000mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board along with Sony’s custom user interface, which is one of the nicer ones out there. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is also water-proof and dust proof, so if you’re looking for a great tablet with great specs, this one is definitely worth a shot.

It’s nice to see Sony finally getting into the US on other carriers. Although I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking the Xperia Z2 would be better suited on Verizon than the Xperia Z2 Tablet. But it’s still nice to have a Sony presence in the US on carriers once again. Hopefully they can get their devices over here now with Verizon on board. How many of you are looking to pick up the Xperia Z2 Tablet from Verizon when it launches on July 17th? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
