Motorola Puts Moto X on Sale Once Again, Celebrating Summer This Time

June 4, 2014 - Written By Phil Bourget

Motorola has been known to put their flagship from last year, the Moto X, for special calendar events.  We had a sale for Valentine’s, for the winter holidays, and for Halloween. Now, the Moto X is on sale once again!

This sale comes to us in honor of summer, celebrating that summer is upon us once again.  The sale will begin, since this is the important bit, at midnight June 4th Eastern Time.   The sale takes a full $100 off the 32GB model in Motomaker.  The sale will last two full days (lasting the whole of both June 4th and 5th).  Also worth noting, the deal applies to the off-contract 32GB model specifically.

For those unsure of whether to hop on the Moto X train, here’s some convincing.  The Moto X, even though it is from last year, is a solid phone with a dual-core 1.7Ghz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (for the sale), and the always popular ‘OK Google Now’ command, so you can use your phone truly hands-free.  Not sold yet?  Well, since yesterday, when the binaries for Nexus devices went up yesterday heralding Android 4.4.3, Kit Kat, Motorola sent out the 4.4.3 update to all of their Moto X, G, and E phones in an OTA (over-the-air) update.  What does that mean?  It means you have the latest bug fixes, the bragging rights of being on the cutting edge of Android once again, and you still have Motorola’s quickly-updated system apps, including the hands-free, driving mode, and camera applications. To help you settle your mind once and for all though, there’s our review to take a read through.

The Moto X may be replaced later this summer with what is currently dubbed in leaks as the ‘Moto X+1’, which may have better specs and a higher resolution screen, but while you can, get a hold of the most talked about smartphone from last year from the most update-friendly company.  Also worth noting, the Moto X is the device that made Google’s Motorola truly amazing, since Lenovo now owns the Big M.  This phone is definitely worth at least a look, since you get amazing features, timely updates, and a $300 price tag for it all.  That, and the knowledge you got 25% off of a contract-free phone that is truly amazing.  Check out Motomaker between midnight tonight and midnight on Friday (based on Easter Time, of course) to see if you’ll be picking up a Moto X just in time to love it over the summer.
