YouTube Turns 9, Celebrates with a Karaoke Party

May 29, 2014 - Written By Alexander Maxham

YouTube is turning 9 years old now, that’s quite a feat, and they are still the number one video service around. In fact, a lot of people work for YouTube, whether that be working on YouTube for Google, or being a content creator and making money from ads – some of our favorites are MKBHD, Austin Evans, and Lamarr Wilson. YouTube has been around for quite some time now and it’s great to see it still striving and thriving. YouTube, well Google, is celebrating with a star-studded Karaoke party.

So to celebrate this year, we pay homage to the music you’ve made on YouTube. We got a bunch of your favorite performers together to cover some of the most memorable musical moments in YouTube’s history. The result is a mashup called YouTube Birthday Karaoke Night, featuring familiar faces like The Gregory Brothers, Chester See, Cimorelli and more (see if you can spot all 18).”

You can check out their promotional video down below. But being around for 9 years is quite a feat. We know of a few other video sites that tried to rival YouTube that didn’t make it and are now out of business. However, YouTube is here and we’re uploading hundreds of hours of content every hour of the day, which is pretty amazing. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel as well. That’s where you can catch all of our podcasts that we do each week. Tonight, we are recording episode 61 live at 8:30pm ET, and we have one of the co-founders of Cliq on the show tonight. So you’ll want to be sure you tune into the show tonight.
