Every month we check out about 5 new custom ROMs for various Android devices. Here you’ll find ROMs that you may or may not have heard about. So don’t expect to see CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android, or AOKP in these lists. This week we have a Custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G2, Nexus 5 and the HTC One (M8). Let’s kick things off with the Galaxy Note 3.

Assassin ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Assassin ROM is based off of Android 4.4.2, and Samsung’s latest firmware, which is build¬†XXUEND6. So it is a Touchwiz-based ROM. It’s also very fast, clean and stable with amazing battery life. There’s also all kinds of tweaks in this ROM for better battery life and better performance. This is also only for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – N9005. So it’s not available for the carrier variants here. Which include the T-mobile, Verizon, Sprint and AT&T variants.¬†

Shoham ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S5

This ROM is also based off of Android 4.4.2, and Touchwiz. So you’ve still got all the goodies that Samsung put into the Galaxy S5, including that camera. It has some 3G and wifi Tweaks, as well as the usual battery tweaks, removed all Knox 2.0 software, 4-way restart menu. It’s also the lightest Touchwiz ROM available at just 1.08GB. So if you’re using the Galaxy S5 and want some more space on your device, the Shoham ROM sounds pretty good.

Cloudy Stock for the LG G2

This one of the more popular Custom ROMs for the LG G2. It’s Cloudy Stock and is based on the stock LG G2 ROM, but it’s really optimized. You’ll get great battery life, some of the G Pro 2 features, as well as the G Pro 2 camera. Which includes 4K and a few other modes like Magic Focus. Also has calling recorder and ART Support. This one is actually available for all the LG G2 models.

InsertCoin for the HTC One M8

InsertCoin is a well-known ROM these days. It’s been available for most HTC devices since at least the HTC Sensation a couple years ago. It is based off of Android 4.4.2 and Sense 6.0, also has a ton of tweaks to make performance better and the battery life even better. Which was already pretty good in my testing. It also includes InsertCoin OTA updates.

Elix-R for the Google Nexus 5

This ROM for the Google Nexus 5 is actually really cool. It’s based solely on Stock Android, and does include the Moonshine icons that we saw leak out from Google recently. It includes a smaller navigation bar, so there’s more space on the screen, Roboto condensed font, latest Motorola gallery, custom softkeys, and so much more. Obviously this is available for any Nexus 5, as there are only two variants and the only real difference is the LTE bands they support.
