Today, we’re looking at another case for the Samsung Galaxy S5. This one is by Pelican, who is exclusive to AT&T. We have the Protector case here, and a bit later on we’ll be looking at the Voyager case which is like a competitor to Otterbox. The Protector case is kind of like a mix between a TPU and a hard case. The back and sides are hard, but inside it’s nice and soft to protect your device while it’s being covered by this case. The Galaxy S5 Protector meets military specifications, so it should protect your new Samsung Galaxy S5 from just about any and everything. It is only available in black at this time, which it looks pretty great on the Galaxy S5, if I do say so myself.
I’ve been using the Protector case from Pelican on the Galaxy S5 for the past few days and really like the case so far. It feels great in the hand, and you never really have to worry about dropping it because the device is protected by this case. Obviously it has cut outs for the camera, flash, heart rate monitor, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB charger, speaker and the microphone. There’s no cut out for the volume rocker or power button though.
Pelican cases are exclusive to AT&T, but they do work with any Samsung Galaxy S5. I’m using it on a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 right now and have had no issues. If you’re interested in the Protector case for the Samsung Galaxy S5, you’ll have to grab it from AT&T and they are charging $40 for it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be available elsewhere, like Amazon, just yet.
