During Sprint’s earnings call today, they also announced that they have launched their LTE network in another 41 markets. This brings their LTE coverage to roughly 225 million people. However, they don’t have that many customers – Verizon only has about half that many. Sprint also announced that Spark is available in 6 more cities. For those that are unaware, Sprint Spark is their higher speed LTE network that runs on three different bands. By running on three different bands, we can get around 60mbps. Now this is real life usage, not theoretical speeds. In a Sprint Spark market I got around 55mbps on the Galaxy S5 not too long ago. Which is pretty damn good, if you ask me. Sprint also hopes to up that speed to around 300mbps in the next year or so when it has blanketed the entire US.
