The second generation Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 is now on sale in Canada at all major box stores for $500 in your favorite color…black.  The Future Shop is offering three Special Offers if you purchase the Galaxy Camera 2 from them – a FREE 64GB Memory Card ($99.99 value), take 20-percent off any purchase of a case, bag, or backpack to protect your new camera, and lastly, you can take 10-percent off the lowest price on all tripods.  The Galaxy Camera 2 is listed as in-stock with a limited quantity available and you can also check to see if it is in your local store.

This second generation of Samsung’s adventure into photography uses the same 16.3MP 21x Optical Zoom (Pinch-to-Zoom) sensor as the original Galaxy Camera, but now with an improved image processing system for better pictures.  The Galaxy Camera 2 can also record Full HD video.  It sports a large 4.8-inch HD Super Clear Touch LCD display with 308 PPI on the back of the Wi-Fi enabled camera.  It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for access to Apps and allows you to share pictures on the go.  The Galaxy SF2 is loaded with 28 SMART Features that allow quick and easy access to many great functions, including uploading to social media sites, E-Mail pictures, DirectLink, MobileLink, and Photo Beam.

Powering this new device is a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM with 8GB of internal storage – there is only 2.8GB of that available to the user according to Samsung, however, there is room for a microSD card for up to 64GB of additional storage.  Besides Wi-Fi, it does have Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC connectivity.  The 2,000mAh battery is housed in the camera with an overall dimension of 132.5 x 71.2 x 19.3mm and weighs in at 283 grams with a faux leather covering like the back of Galaxy Note 3 and new TabPRO tablets.

The Galaxy Camera 2’s Story Album function lets you create, display and print photo albums of family gatherings, vacations, sporting events or any other experience that’s worth sharing.  It organizes photos into timelines, and reframes and resizes them to create digital photo books that you can display on your camera’s screen or send anywhere for recipients to view on their own devices.

So let us know on our Google+ Page if you will be ordering the new Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 or if your will stick to your trusty DSLR camera or simply use your smartphone’s camera.
