Marvel Puts Out An Endless Runner That Looks Like Jetpack Joyride

January 30, 2014 - Written By Justin Diaz

If you have a jones for some endless runner action, you might want to check out Marvel Run Jump Smash. It looks quite similar to jetpack Joyride actually, which is developed by Halfbrick Studios, and even it’s only half as fun as Halfbricks insanely popular endless runner, it still ends up being a blast of a game because it’s got super heroes in it. That warrants instant cool points in our book. As you could imagine, Run Jump Smash will have you doing all three of those actions inside the game while you try to run as long as you can, while gathering up coins, (why you ask? because super heroes need money too!)and dodging enemies and obstacles that will try to stop you. You can choose to run as one of two different S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, with a team of four different heroes from the start: Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, and Black Widow, with more heroes being added and becoming unlockable. So far based on the images on Google Play, it looks like the current new unlockable heroes are Spider Man, Thor, Hawkeye, and Captain Marvel.

It’s interesting to see that this game is still $0.99, even though IAP still exist, but i suppose that setup is nothing new to the game category on Android, and this isn’t the only game to take that route. So far the game looks to be a lot more interactive than most endless runners, which is fine by us because you get to unleash some really cool super powered special attacks from each character. If you’re a huge Marvel fan and read plenty of the comic books surrounding the Avengers, you’ll probably feel a little bit at home playing this game as you’ll be running with your chosen agent and hero team through iconic Marvel locations.

Marvel Run Jump Smash also boasts some competitive nature for those of you who like to hold on to some bragging rights. Run as far as you can and get the highest score with your hero to top the leaderboards, than brag to your friends at how weak their super hero running skills are. Once you have grabbed up enough coins, you can upgrade your character and buy power boosts to help you run even further and boost your score etc. Marvel Run Jump Smash does also apparently need a data connection for you to play it, which sucks, but since it’s not the first game to do this either it’s not as big of a deal. Overall it looks like a pretty sweet game, and if you’re an endless runner fan, and a Marvel Comic fan, this is the game for you. You can grab the game from the Play Store link here.
