Cyber Monday is well under way, with over half the day left to go and still plenty of deals left to snag if you’re in the market for some awesome electronics. The newest deal to come to light is the LTE model of the Xperia Tablet Z from Sony. To celebrate cyber monday Sony is offering up their Xperia Tablet Z LTE model for only $579.99. This deal is only available through today, so if this sounds like something you’d be interested in you had better open your browsers fast and head on over to the Sony Xperia Tablet Z landing page. The tablet normally costs $629.99 so $50 off is what you get here, and we have to say that’s a pretty good deal.

If you’re unfamiliar with Xperia Tablet Z, its a super thin and extremely light tablet running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Don’t worry though, it’s scheduled to receive the 4.4 kit kat update sometime in early 2014. Its main attraction might be the ultra thin design and the heavy duty features like the tough glass display and the water resistance that allows it to be immersed under water and even withstand the power of water jets, all while remaining unaffected for up to 30 minutes. That’s pretty impressive. Considering today’s active lifestyle for many people, extra features that help prevent damage is a good selling point.

On the inside, the Xperia Tablet Z comes powered by a Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset of four krait CPUs, and an Adreno 320 GPU for all the graphics rendering. As far as memory goes the Xperia Tablet Z has 2GB of ram which is pretty standard for high end devices now, and comes with 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage space isn’t a lot, but you can expand storage by up to an extra 64GB via microSD if you need more space for stuff. When you use the Xperia Tablet Z you’ll be interacting with a 10.1 inch LED backlit LCD capacitive touch display that has a resolution of 12800×19820. It really is a beautiful screen and quite possibly one of the best on the market. It has an 8MP rear facing camera for photos, and a 2MP HD chat camera as Sony is calling it for things like hangouts and Skype. To power all of this stuff, Sony has included a non-removable 6,000 mAH battery. That’s massive, so you should have no problem getting a day or even two on normal use.

Christmas is only 23 days away folks, so if you or someone you love is in the need of a new tablet, check out the Xperia Tablet Z today on some downtime and decide quickly if it’s the right one so you don’t miss out on the $50 savings.
