Share What Matters To You And Win A 2013 Nexus 7 or a $50.00 Google Play Gift Card From Google

November 17, 2013 - Written By Keith Myers

Google has been known to have a few unconventional contests in the past in order to help promote their products and in order to gain some valuable insight on how people fit their products into their everyday life. Google’s latest contest will be giving away the much talked about 2013 Nexus 7 or a $50.00 Google Play Gift Card. Neither of these gifts are something that I would personally turn down. There are no details on the number of each prize that are being given away.

The contest is simple, users need to take a simple photograph of what matters the most to them surrounding their favorite Android Device (if you have one). Google advises users to use items, mementos and other “little things” in order to craft a story of what matters the most to you. Google gives several examples including hobbies, crafts, photography, travel or even dominating the planet with drones. Based on the examples provided by Google, it is clear that they are looking for creativity from those who submit their photos.

The contest rules are very simple and simply state that you must be 18 years or older. Google also offers the following submission requirements/details:

  • In your photo submission, include the personal items, mementos and the little things that matter to you.

  • Even if you don’t have a Nexus or Android device, we invite you to create an inspired portrait for a chance to win.

  • Please avoid putting brands front and center; focus your portrait on you and your story.

I would like to point out that you DO NOT need to own an Android Device or a Nexus to submit a photo. This fine detail opens up the contest to anyone with a bit of creativity. Google clearly wants you to avoid using any brands/logos in your work as well.

Google has put together several example photos to help you get started. They can be viewed below or on Google’s Nexus Google Plus Community.

If you wish to include your photo, please head on over to Google’s Official Contest Page to submit your image.
