Android 4.4 KitKat’s Awesome Easter Egg

November 2, 2013 - Written By Alexander Maxham

Google, and many other developers, have always included Easter eggs in their products. For instance in the Speedtest.net app, there is an Easter egg that consists of cats. Google always hides a few easter eggs in each version of Android and in some of their apps as well. This one is from tapping on Settings, then About Phone and tapping on Android version a few times. Just like with every other version of Android.

So after tapping on the Android version a few times you’ll get a spinning K. Then if you long press on the K, you will then see the red Android screen that looks like a KitKat wrapper. Now if you long press on that, you’ll see a bit of a collage of different Android versions, which you can rearrange if you so choose.

So it’s nothing too big, but it is pretty cool to see, nonetheless. I’m sure we’ll find some other Easter Eggs inside Android 4.4 once we dive deeper into the new version of Android. But for now, we’ll have to leave you with this. You can check out Android Central‘s video down below to see how awesome it looks.

For those of you that haven’t received your Nexus 5 yet, this will give you another tease as you await your beautiful Nexus 5. For those that haven’t ordered one but do have the Nexus 4, 7 or 10, well it’ll also give you another tease until Google pushes out the OTAs or at least the factory images for each device. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m anxious to see how it’ll work and act on the Nexus 7.

What does everyone think about this Easter egg in Android 4.4? Let us know in the comments down below.
