ZTE Grand S

ZTE is not the first smartphone that will pop into your head when ask to name one, as the few models that are in the U.S. are mostly used as pre-paid phones, and cheaper models at that. ZTE (formerly Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Company) is not well known in the U.S., but in China, they are constantly in a struggle with LG and Huawei for third place in total sales behind Samsung and Apple. They, as other China smartphone manufacturers, are trying to expand into the U.S. to sell high-end devices here, while selling the lower-end phones in their own country.

Grand S

The ZTE Grand S combines “the perfect combination of aesthetics and technology,” according to their press release.  Lixin Cheng, Chairman and CEO of ZTE USA said:

For many consumers, technology and design are inseparable. Today’s higher-end smartphones must be both physically and emotionally compelling, and the Grand S offers this winning combination of form and function.  We’ve been looking forward to bringing the Grand S to the U.S. since we announced the device at CES. Our goal is to launch more products like this in the future.
