The leaks just won’t stop. This evening we got a couple of treats. A semi-listing of the Nexus 5 showed up in the Google Play Store, all but confirming the Nexus 5 name, 16GB model and pricing. We’ve also found a press image that you’re all going to love! So far the specs aren’t confirmed. But based on the render we can see some of the UI changes in Android 4.4 – KitKat. As you can see the navigation bar and status bar appear to be transparent. Also the page indicator, app drawer icon and folders have all changed a bit. Nothing too fancy, but it is a noticeable change. Additionally the icons in the status bar up top are now gray/white. Which we’ve seen rumored for weeks now. The Camera also has a new icon. Looks a bit more like the Touchwiz icon. Additionally the Hangouts app is in the dock, which wasn’t there before. Which tells us that we might be seeing SMS integration in Android 4.4, which is something we’ve all been wishing for, for quite a long time.
As far as the specs go, we’ve heard that it’ll be featuring a 1080p 4.96-inch display. Along with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and at least a 16GB variant. There might also be a 32GB variant but we haven’t seen much about that one. We’re also looking at a 2300mAh battery. Which I don’t think that’ll translate to good battery life at all, unless Google has learned from Motorola’s battery optimization tricks. Which I would love to see. As the battery life on the Moto X is very impressive for a 2200mAh battery.
