Two lesser-known companies have been making waves the past month, ZTE and Virgin Mobile. Just yesterday, we did a story on a new ZTE Nubia Z5 flagship-type phone passing through FCC and soon to land on the shores of the U.S. and three weeks ago we did a story on the new ZTE Waterproof “Reef” rolling into Virgin Mobile’s smartphone offerings. Just the other day, Virgin Mobile added a low-end 4-inch ZTE Awe device and today, Virgin Mobile announces the new 5-inch ZTE Supreme joining their team. Does anybody see a pattern here – could this be ZTE’s way of entry to the U.S. until the larger carriers take notice?

The arrival of the Supreme has to be exciting for Virgin Mobile customers, as the company continues to upgrade their offerings. The Supreme offers:
- 5-inch 720 HD Display
- Dual-Core 1.5GHz Processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB Internal Storage with MicroSD Card Support up to 64GB
- 13MP Camera, with 1080p HD Video
- 1MP FFC

Virgin Mobile offers all of this for $299.99 – remember that is a contract-free price, as Virgin Mobile does not make you commit to a long-term contract. The user would then pair the Supreme with one of Virgin Mobile’s Beyond Talk programs, starting at just $35 a month that includes unlimited texting along with 300 talk minutes a month. If you jump to the $45 a month plan you get 1200 talk minutes a month, and the $55 a month plan gives you unlimited text and talk. The Beyond Talk programs do not cover any mobile Hotspot minutes that must be purchased for an extra $15 per month as an add-on feature.
This is certainly one of the more powerful phones offered on Virgin Mobile and is certainly targeted for media lovers and gamers with its 5-inch screen…it even comes pre-loaded with EA Mobile’s “Real Racing 3” as an added bonus! It also comes with Virgin Mobile’s ID Packs that includes pre-packed apps, wallpapers and more to help you customize your phone.
Let us know if you use Virgin Mobile and if will be picking up the new ZTE Supreme.
