The HTC One Max Seen in Two Photos – Front and Back

September 13, 2013 - Written By Cory McNutt

HTC has been filling the chat rooms ever since the HTC One debuted in April, with Verizon, as usual, bringing up the rear on August 22. Soon after its release, there were talks about the HTC One Mini appearing on the scene, and we found out that it was an AT&T exclusive, with a release date of August 23. Next, we had rumors of an HTC One Max, a Phablet-type version being developed although no specific carrier or release date are know at this point, although there are rumors it could be a Sprint exclusive.

Thanks to our Mobileaks and Weibo.com, we now can supply you with some new photos of this beast. The HTC One Max is seen in the middle with its parental unit, the HTC One, flanking either side. The HTC One Max shown is a prototype, and still shows, what appears to be a square fingerprint scanner on the back, directly under the camera, the second such phone to carry a scanner, in a new production phone (the Moto Atrix had one in 2011) since the iPhone 5s debuted the other day.

Comparing how it stacks up against its main competition, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3:

In the marketplace, the HTC One Max will be squaring off directly with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, available to carriers in the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see if the HTC One Max’s design can attract potential Note 3 customers. The one thing that differentiates the Galaxy Note Series from the other Phablets is the inclusion of the S-Pen. Not only do they provide you will the stylus, but the device itself has a storage area for it.

Let us know what you think about the HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – which one will you be purchasing.
