WIND Launching a new Device Trade-In Program next Week

Next week, one of the smaller carriers in Canada is going to be kicking off a new device trade-in program. Of course that carrier is none other than WIND Mobile. You can see in the leaked picture above how it’ll actually work, or most of how it’ll work. We’ll know more next week when it launches.

Galaxy Note 3 Making its Way to 8 Carriers this Year

The Galaxy Note 3 was unveiled on Wednesday at Samsung’s Unpacked event in Berlin. We already heard that the Galaxy Note 3 was heading to 5 carriers in the US. Now we’ve been told that it’s hitting 8 carriers in Canada. That includes Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Mobilicity, MTS, Sasktel, Videotron and WIND Mobile. Additionally it’ll be available in these retail stores Best Buy, Future Shop, Target Mobile, Tbooth Wireless, The Mobile Shop, The SOurce, WIRELESSWAVE and WIRELESS.

WIND Mobile In talks to Acquire Mobilicity Subscribers

Well Verizon’s not looking to buy WIND now. But it looks like WIND is looking to buy Mobilicity’s customers. We’re hearing this week that this proposed deal is set to happen within weeks for about $40 million. Since Mobilicity can’t sell their spectrum until 2014, they are going to sell the spectrum to the highest bidder.

Verizon CEO says No to Canada

Earlier this week we heard that Verizon is buying out Vodafone’s 45% stake in their company, well the wireless part of the company. Many of us felt that meant Verizon was serious about expanding into Canada. Just a few days later, Verizon’s CEO stated that they are not moving into Canada and have no interest there. That they bought Vodafone’s share back because they felt it was the right thing to do for their shareholders.

ASUS is bringing their MeMO Pad FHD 10 to Canada. It’s coming with an Intel processor and priced at $320. Other specs include a 10-inch 1920×1200 IPS display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB storage options, Android 4.2 and a 6580mAh battery. ASUS is also offering a Bluetooth powered Folio keyboard case for those that want to order a MeMO Pad FHD 10.
