Just in time for the hottest time of the year, HTC is coming around to offer a blue HTC one that is reminisce of a certain summer berry. Much like the sound of the ice cream truck, new colors of devices always help sales, and what better timing than when HTC is set to post it’s first quarterly loss in the company’s history? Sales of the HTC One have been strong for the company, and this should be a great way to boost sales of the device even further. The leaked press shot comes from the famous EVLeaks on Twitter, and doesn’t give us a whole lot of information as to which carriers or countries the device might be headed to. We’ve seen recent rumors with this exact blue color HTC One being Verizon exclusive in the US, but no other information for any international carriers.
We’ve seen HTC roll out the red version of the HTC One across the pond, with rumors of it coming to Sprint in the US. It’s a little strange that the red color wouldn’t be Verizon exclusive, but some times these things aren’t so logical. With AT&T getting so many exclusives as of late, it’s actually surprising to see the blue HTC One heading anywhere else other than AT&T. Regardless though, Verizon customers have been unable to choose the HTC One as their phone of choice since the carrier has yet to officially carry it in any manner at all. Latest rumors do thankfully point to an August 15th release date on Big Red (Verizon), which is only a scant week away.
The HTC One is one heck of a phone, all puns aside, and looks to be receiving a couple different variations of the device (aside from the colors of course). We’ve seen more and more leaks of the HTC One Max lately, and it’s exciting to see some more colors for the vanilla HTC One behind the counter. With Motorola’s recent announcement of the Moto X and all the colors that are available with that phone, it’s no surprise to see some other manufacturers putting out new colors as well. It’s just in time too, as the Moto X looks to be available as early as August 23rd on Verizon’s shelves. HTC needs to continue to make a name for themselves and differentiate from the competition in order to stay solvent. Maybe new colors and a few ads featuring Robert Downy Jr will help too? Stranger things have happened after all.
