App of the Day: Print my Text

July 9, 2013 - Written By Alexander Maxham

Some people still use text messages right? Well if you do, you may want to print them out for some reason. That could be a legal reason, or maybe you just want a hard copy back up of your texts. Whatever the case may be, Print My Text has you covered. The app will scan your phone and allows you to email your texts to yourself. You can also print them as a printable email or PDF. That all depends on your email provider.

All you have to do is download the app, go through the setup then the app will automatically scan your phone for your texts. The developer warns that this could take a while, especially if you have a lot of texts. Next you just press send and enter an email where you want to send your texts. The developer prefers that you use Gmail instead of Outlook or another email provider. Which is fine since every Android user should have a Gmail account. Afterwards, you can print or save as a backup. It’s just that easy.

Additionally, Print My Text does not store any of your information. Your text messages go straight from your phone to your email. The developers have made it clear that your text messages do not go anywhere else. Privacy is very important, especially in this day and age with all the NSA and PRISM scares and news. With Print my Text you can rest assured that your information will not be seen by anyone else.

Print My Text was released last month, and is on sale for $0.99. If you really need hard copies of your text messages, this is probably the best app to use to get then. It’s also a fairly small app. It weighs in at about 810kb. It also has a pretty nice and intuitive UI. Although it’s not holo, it does look pretty nice, as you can see in the screenshots throughout this post. So give it a try.
