App of the Day: Fitbit

You’ve probably heard about the Jawbone Up, and the various Fitbit accessories that are around. Well this free Fitbit app is here to help you take advantage of their products. If you’re looking to lose some weight, or just get in shape, Fitbit is an excellent choice. Fitbit allows you to keep track of the calories you are intaking, how many steps you’re taking per day, manage your weight, and even sleep better.

I’ve had the Jawbone Up for a few months now. And it’s very similar to the Fitbit, except for the price. Fitbit also has a new product out that supports Bluetooth. So instead of taking your Fitbit off to sync, you can sync over Bluetooth, freaking awesome right? I know I hate taking off my Jawbone Up to sync the data and even to charge it, so Bluetooth is going to come in handy.

Fitbit has a variety of trackers and smart scales at different price ranges, with of course different features. You can find them all at their website. The Fitbit app is rather small. It’s coming in at about 5.6MB in size. So when you consider all that it does, it is rather small. It also requires Android 2.1 and up.
