It was revealed some time ago that Google would soon be rolling out new shipping options to the Play Store. Just as promised, those new shipping options are now available. Previously, only one option was available that often had people spending more money than they would prefer to.

The old shipping method is still available, if you want to pay $13.99 for devices and $11.99 for accessories. Personally, I think that’s pretty ridiculous and I know a lot of you folks do too. There are two new shipping options other than the standard “Two Day” which has long been offered.

Ground shipping

The “Ground” option is available for all orders, and items will take about 3-5 business days to arrive at your doorstep. If you go with Ground, you’ll be paying $9.99 for devices and $7.99 for accessories.

Saver Shipping

The other option “Saver” is only available to orders that meet specific weight requirements. In other words, you can only ship accessories using the saver option, which will take 5-10 business days to reach your doorstep. That being said, it’s pretty much the best option if you want to stay cheap at $4.99.

The estimated times only account for shipping, they do not factor in processing time, which could in-turn take up to 2 more business days. That means, if you order something and choose the Ground option, the shipment could take up to 7 business days total to arrive to your house.

You would think with all of today’s technology shipping would be much faster, but apparently not. Well, realistically speaking it is much faster you just have to pay an arm and a leg for it.

This news is music to our ears. We all know how expensive it is to have devices and accessories shipped when purchased through the Play store. Now if only Google would take care of all those stock and production issues, we’d all be happy campers.

What do you think of the new shipping options? Are they acceptable? Would you rather there were cheaper options available than what’s offered? How do you feel about the weight restriction with the Saver shipping tier?
