Galaxy Devices Get a New Paint Job, Purple is the New Black for S4, Mega 5.7 and Mega 6.3

The infamous evleaks is at it again. Some new images have surfaced of the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Mega 5.7, and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 adorned with a pleasant purple finish. According to the leak, the devices won’t have anything new in terms of hardware or feature upgrades, expect for the paint job. Furthermore, there’s absolutely no mention of a price or availability. It’s likely they will be the same price as the base model since it’s just a different finish that sets them apart.

As always, @evleaks released the related images via Twitter for everyone to ponder. Such a shame, seems like all of the good leaks are wasted on Twitter. It would be nice to see some of these leaked images exclusively cropping up on Google+ for once, but I digress.

In case you weren’t following along the first time around, here’s the list of specs for all the devices mentioned above:

  • Galaxy S4
    • 5-inch Super AMOLED display
    • 1.9GHz quad-core processor
    • 2GB of installed RAM
    • 13MP rear facing camera
  • Galaxy Mega 6.3
    • 6.3-inch SC-LCD display
    • 1.7GHz dual-core processor
    • 1.5GB of installed RAM
    • 8MP rear facing camera
  • Galaxy Mega 5.8
    • 5.8-inch TFT LCD display
    • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
    • 1.5GB of installed RAM
    • 8MP rear facing camera

Of course, each device has a longer list of specs and features. The items highlighted here are just the bare necessities. If you’d like to see a device up close and personal a simple site search will do.

It seems a little strange that Samsung is just launching a single color aimed at several different devices. Handsets are usually only offered in a select handful of colors, most likely due to supply and production costs.

How many of you have ever wondered what it would be like to own a purple device? Now you can find out. Anyone interested in picking one of these lovely ladies up (I say ladies because it’s purple, come on now)? Before you smash me about being insensitive, take a deep breath and remember it’s just a color- that happens to be quite feminine. Pink is quite feminine too, while we’re on the subject.
