Updates are an international thing, and so from now on you’re going to be seeing some phones available only in Europe and the wider world appear here. The One SV is a budget-minded device from HTC that launched last year. HTC don’t have the best record when it comes to updates – those with the One X can attest to that – and so it’s good to hear that there’s even an update coming to this device at all. Apparently, HTC have an Android 4.2 update in the works for the One SV – keep those fingers crossed folks!

Those on 3 in the UK might have been lucky enough to get the update to Android 4.2 on their One. However, HTC have pulled the update for some reason, which means that yes, the wait for the current version of Android still continues. It’s bizarre enough that the device did not launch with Android 4.2, but why are we still waiting? Needless to say, Engadget reached out to HTC and they confirmed that the update is still on its way “soon”.

No matter how much you dislike Verizon, you’ve got to hand it to them, they’re pretty good with maintenance updates and the like. This time around, there’s a small update for the Galaxy Stellar from Samsung, which already has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. That makes for an update that fixes a few things, and improves performance when using speaker phone and the such. To find out more, head on over to Verizon.

Unlocked HTC One Gets Minor Update

AH HTC ONE REVIEW 9

The unlocked version of the HTC One is getting an update right about now and it’s one of those mysterious “enhancements”. The developer edition of the device is getting a 17MB update to software version number 1.29.xxxx.17 and there’s nothing listed right now. We assume that this is just minor bug-fixing from HTC. It could also be the groundwork for the Android 4.2 update but, knowing HTC, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Sony Xperia ZL Gets Update to Android 4.2.2

The Xperia ZL has apparently just been updated to Android 4.2.2. Which would make Sony’s handset one of the few devices out there – that isn’t a Nexus – that has Android 4.2. The build rolling out to some users right now is software version 10.3.A.0.423. This update is just rolling out, and so there’s not too much info on it right now, but you can read a little more on it here.
