Android App of the Day: reClock: Text Clock Widget

June 12, 2013 - Written By Alexander Maxham

Lets talk widgets. Widgets are apps too right? Well we believe they are, which is why we are spotlighting the reClock text clock widget today. It’s brand new on Google Play, it launched on Monday and is currently on version 1.0. It’s a pretty small app, weighs in at about 1.7mb so it shouldn’t take up much space on your device.

reClock is the text clock home screen widget that will make you read. Attention is always in high demand, and quite often we find ourselves missing something. I know I miss stuff all the time. Why should you use reClock? Well by reading and processing the text on reClock your brain is actively engaged. Which means you won’t quickly forget what the time was. I know I’ve done that many times before.

reClock has plenty of different interfaces that you can use for the widget. As you can see in the screenshots through out this post. There is a donate function in the app which unlocks even more settings. The developers are only asking for $1.29, which is really cheap and well worth it if you ask me. The widget can also read the font files on your SD card, which means it can use them as well. You can also set an alarm when the widget is clicked, which is my pet peeve about some clock widgets I’ve used in the past.

Additionally, reClock has a Google+ community, and that’s right it does have beta testers. So if you join the community you can be a part of the beta testing, which is always pretty fun. You can also talk about the app/widget in the community and get help from the devs as well as other users.
